Sponsored Content Policy

Commercial partnerships can support the journal without disguising the editorial boundary.

A documentary workshop scene illustrating sponsored content policy in the Vermont journal

A sponsored feature is labeled near its headline and in its introduction. Its subject must fit one of the site’s seven commercial neighborhoods and its claims receive the same basic source and clarity review as any other page.

Editors retain control of wording, disclosures and correction notes. A sponsor cannot buy an undisclosed product ranking, a fabricated personal endorsement or a link that misleads the reader about the page’s purpose.

Every notice is reviewed as part of the same publication system: readers can identify the responsible desk, understand the boundary of the page, follow the relevant editorial route and request a correction by naming the exact URL and supporting information.
